The Constitution of the Society of British Columbia Conservation Officers (amended 2003) states our purpose as follows:
Each member of
the Society shall observe the
CODE
OF ETHICS
of the Society
as follows:
He will give credit for facts or opinions where it is dueHe will treat all business matters as confidential
He will not give an opinion unless it is honest
He will discourage untrue or biased statements concerning the organization for which he works or it's personnel
He will endeavor to further the education of the public in the purposes and the activities of the Society and the Conservation Officer Service
He will continue to improve his knowledge in order to increase his usefulness as a Conservation Officer
He will do his utmost to train and further the advancement of subordinates
He will not sponsor an application for admission to membership in the Society when he believes that the applicant is not qualified
He will never consider that membership in the Society makes him more capable or gives him preference in matters of wildlife conservation or employment
